give it 7 days to rest.

Now think of an isolation exercise as gear 2.

In gear 2, you are nowhere near top speed of the car…

The same goes for an isolation exercise, you are not recruiting as many muscle fibers while doing an isolation exercise that targets only one muscle group.

Now, let’s say we performed a heavy multi-joint exercise, this would be the equivalent of working the Lamborghini up to its 7th gear.

The car would be moving pretty fast! By focusing on multi-joint exercises, you will increase muscle fiber recruitment and target multiple muscle groups at once, giving you the biggest bang for your buck.
